Week 4 Overview:

Highlight: The Getty Villa, Malibu, California
I decided that it had been far too long since I had been able to leisurely stroll though a museum, with no objective other than pure enjoyment. When I drove through the gates of The Getty, I was immediately calmer, and found myself taking a deep breath. Sometimes I think we actually have to remind ourselves to really breathe!
The Getty Villa houses the J. Paul Getty Museum’s collection of approximately 44,000 Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities. This museum not only offers an outstanding art collection, but beautiful scenery and a view of the Pacific Ocean. It is the perfect escape from everyday stress. What I love about visiting a museum is that it is a kind of mini-vacation. You usually don’t have to travel too far, and yet you feel as though you are miles away from your never-ending To Do list. Sometimes I think we ignore all the great things that our own cities have to offer. Be a tourist in your own town! Take a mini-vacation and feel the stress dissipate.
